It’s widely accepted that vegan substitutes can easily become pricey but, there are many ways to find cheap options in places you’d never expect.


Earth Balance: Although this brand can be more difficult to find at regular grocery stores, a large portion of their products are under $3.50.

Just Mayo: Aside from being sold in grocery stores such as Harris Teeter or Whole Foods, this oil-based spread can be purchased at your local Dollar Tree for a fraction of the price!

Smart Balance: Dairy free substitutes including margarine, milks, and cooking sprays.

WestSoy: Their organic, low fat soy milks can be found at Dollar Stores for $1.00 or $12.00 for a pack of 12.

Plant-based milks range in price averages – soy milk- $2.00, almond milk- $2.25, hazelnut milk- $2.55,  coconut milk- $2.80, hemp milk- $3.35



Amy’s Kitchen: Their vegan and gluten free, organic products range from soups to burritos to pizza! Most products can be found at your local grocery store at prices ranging from $2.50 to $8.50.

Gardein: Their beef, chicken, and fish substitutes are on the pricier side, averaging at $4.75, but, one bag or box of these products lasts between 2 and 5 meals!

Annie’s Homegrown: Both organic snacks and meals are available! Their variety of vegan options, averaging at $3.00, provides options for all ages.
