I think we can all agree that we need more vegans in office to make changes that we could also all agree with. For instance someone like Cory Booker is much more likely to promote a green lifestyle and work against something like the badger cull than someone like Governor Chris Christie.
There aren’t that many vegans in office- but there are a few, and that’s enough to make a difference. My favorite still are Senator Cory Booker (who has already had hate articles written about him calling him an extremist) and Kerry McCarthy who has just been appointed by Jeremy Corbyn to deal with issues involving animal agriculture and the enviornment.
Ms McCarthy became the first MP to set out the case for converting to veganism in Parliament on World Vegan Day four years ago.
She has also campaigned against the Government’s badger cull and fox hunting in her role as vice-president of the League Against Cruel Sports.
This is a huge win for animals, there couldn’t possibly be any better news than a Vegan in charge of animal agriculture unless it was the news that she was phasing it out.
